We got talking tonight about how much time I spend with my audio hobby. I told him I finally wanted to mount my surround speakers onto the walls where they should properly be, and he was cool with that. Though he thought, as many do, that surround speakers were supposed to be in the rear, behind us.
I explained that they indeed were supposed to be to our sides, and above. He didn't understand, nor care. But I saw my opening. (You know exactly what I'm talking about don't you? )
I said "Well, you know...my new Rotel processor is capable of 7.1 channels. We could add a pair of speakers behind us as well." And you know what his response was? "Duh! If you can have seven speakers, why do you only have five?" I know he was being half sarcastic, but he also meant it - since he KNEW what I was hinting at.
Time to start saving...I got me an amp and some speakers to buy!

Cool...another female on this board (at least, I *think* your female)! So, does the bf help you pay for your audio equipment? It seems that the majority of audio enthusiasts are male, but I have a feeling that if I ever get married(or at least find a bf!), that I'll be the one supplying all the home theater stuff! I've always had better audio equiptment than all of the guys I've ever dated and I think they thought that was intimidating for some reason. What I *really* enjoy is when I go to an electronics store and know more about the products than the male sales guys. They seem to get defensive about it and try to come up with something I don't already know! I absolutely love the people here at the Axiom board because the guys here don't try to make me look stupid or naive when I ask questions...they are very helpful. Anyway, it sounds as if you have a nice setup!

Sorry to burst your bubble, I'm a guy.
Our money is pretty much pooled, but for purchases like this, I usually try raising most of the cash myself with my side biz.

Ooops...sorry about that! Well, it was nice ranting & raving to you anyway! Being that your such an audio enthusiast, your boyfriend is lucky to have you as I'm sure he enjoys your audio system just as much as you do (as long as you're the one buying the equipment)!!!

That was funny. At least in your case you have a DINK situation. Double Income No Kids. Just to think what you can do with those funds .... drool.... tenor audio mono block amps, Sunfire Processor, Kharma Grand Ceramic speakers ... Classe CD player ... 62 inch plasma screen.... posh loft space.

He really wants a big plasma tv. So when the time comes for the TV upgrade, we won't have any arguments there!
