I love the knobs... Yes, our product sounds like poopoo unless you take off the damn knobs and replace them with our $500/each ones!

If you can find a good price on some, I've always found acoustic treatments to be a nice gift. The friends I've given them to in the past really appreciated them.

Aren't many of these products, especially the wooden knobs at $485 each, just begging for a mail fraud suit to be filed? I'm sorry, nothing bugs me much more than this sue happy society we live in, but is this not an actual crime?

I'm flabbergasted.

Craig, you bring up a good point. My initial thought upon viewing most of this junk was, "Well, that's just natural selection at work." Thinning the herd, as it were. If you're stupid enough to buy this crap, I have absolutely no sympathy. It reminds me of the product a few years back on the late-night infomercials - the belt that was supposed to generate mild electric shocks and magically help you lose weight and tone your abs in the process.

On the other hand, you're absolutely correct -- this essentially amounts to theft, particularly when their marketing is backed by immeasurable claims. But then I look at the $30K cables -- if there's really any doubt in anyone's mind that copper is copper is copper is copper...well, perhaps that individual deserves to have his wallet lightened. I'm on the fence, but I'm leaning towards the argument that we as a society don't necessarily have an obligation to teach common sense.

My definition of a very sad individual:

"The person who ties up his 243ft yacht......

....in the slip next to the 260 footer"

I really,...really feel sorry for that guy.

But this has many, many, heavy strands of individually damped copper! You know, without the damping material, copper strands are just useless! HAHA!

I hope that everyone knows that I was being sarcastic by recommending these products. The claims are so outrageous, I actually started laughing out loud in my office today. But now when I think about it, it's actually sad to know that people are really getting sucked into buying this crap.

I showed the most egregious (the little wooden box with potentiometers) to one of my coworkers. He thought that perhaps I was wrong, maybe it was worth $6000....

sigh...

'Course, this is also the guy who thinks Bose is the bee's knees.

And if anyone makes that goddamn Bose abbreviation joke again...

Great find, Mary! I'll add this to my collection of links that has Mapleshade and other audio rip-offs and scams in it.

As a service to humanity, I'll bring some other items to your attention. Even Mark Johnson's room may be cured by a generous application of these discs. Certainly you should consider upgrading your CDs, etc. with Rainbow foil. Other products deserving of close study include their Spiratubes, ring ties, and realfoil.

If after reading these descriptions you believe that this is just what you need to upgrade your system, but you fear that the cost for such advanced technology would be beyond your budget, don't worry; the price list is absurdly low in view of the benefits.

A Quote from the same site reagarding an $875 "Quantum Clip"
In reply to:

The Quantum Clip is supplied with three lengths of Quantum Clip Film. Extended payment time can be arranged for this item on a zero interest basis.

He can offer "zero interest", because he is out of pocket about 0.35 cents for the product! HaHa!! Man, I'm in the wrong business.

John, thanks for links! I'm especially interested in the The Beginner's Pack, for *only* 87 bucks I feel the bargain just can't be beat.

All kidding aside, what I'd really like is a 7.1 Home Theatre Plate which nobody seems to have in stock right now....I'd even consider giving up the Beginner's Pack for one of the wall plates.
