In reply to:

Those threaded "holes" are only in the framing of the sub, no? I pretty sure they do not go all the way through the sub cabinet, so there's no chance of any "air leaks", whether you use the feet or not.

Just yesterday, Jakeman made this post upon which my post was based.

"You probably have already done this, but when I first set up my 600 I didn't insert the feet. After 2 hours of trying to figure out where all the vibration and noise was coming from (by running my ear up and down the cabinet) I figured out it was coming from the footholes. Of course it stopped as soon as the holes were plugged."

Also, Amie recently made this post which also influenced my post.

"The issue is mostly feet and logo related. You can't take the feet out when you turn it or else you would have holes in your sub - not a good thing - and your logo will be reading sideways. In a lot of home theaters that wouldn't be a big deal, but in some it would be."

Both of those were in reference to the 600. So, it's possible that situation doesn't exist with the 500. If that is the case, blame John and Amie! (How's THAT for duckin' the blame? )

Interesting. I've seriously never seen that in any product before. My appologies.

No apologies necessary as far as I'm concerned. You're no more likely to be mistaken about something than I. Less likely, probably.
