I own a pair of M3's and the EP175 subwoofer. I just moved into a house where there's a room where I want to set up a home theater. After exhaustive online research, I purchased an AVR225, assuming that it would be fine for my needs (good sound, don't need huge volume). I was going to either buy some QS4's and a center channel or some floor-standing speakers and use the M3's as rears.
Now, the room that I'm putting this in is quite large - 24X18X10.
Have I made a mistake buying an entry-level receiver for a room of this size?
Also, does the center channel need to be manufactured by the same manufacturer as the front channels (a Sound Advice salesman told me so)?

hanfrac,
Unless you run at above reference levels all the time, the 225 should work well for you. HK receiver power is usually underrated as opposed to many of the bloated claims of some other receivers out there.
You should match the center with the front speakers, though you might buy the center first and see how YOU think it matches the M3s up front.

ya don't worry about it
Axioms are efficient.
i had a denon running 70wpc in a 22 by 14 room with real high ceilings and it became very, very loud without having to pump the volume on the receiver particularly high.
