Calling all M22ti owners. what sub do you recomend. anyone ever doa side by side with these two. SVS PCI 25-31 or the HSU VTF-2. The room is actually on th small side. We pretty much are 80% movies adn 20% music.

Thanks

I'm also interested in this comparison. I might need a sub upgrade soon!

Looks like you're looking for me!

I've got a pair of M22s and an SVS PB1-ISD (the cube version of the 25-31PCi) in a room that's roughly 12x12x8. The sub is easily able to fill the room with great, deep, tight, accurate bass in both movies and music.

It also seems like this pairing is ideal. With the standard 80Hz crossover provided by my receiver, the blending between the M22s and the sub is perfect. The speakers are still able to reproduce the mid-bass they excel at while handing the deeper stuff off to the sub.

I could not be happier with my system. (Although the PB2+ does look amazing, it would be overkill in my case.)

I'm on the other side of the fence. I have the M22's paired with a Hsu VTF-2 and feel they fit perfectly as well. It's really up to you. You can't go wrong with either.

I did a side by side of the 20-39PCi and the HSU VTF-2. I prefered the HSU. Like the sound better, and didn't want a water heater(SVS) in the room either.

SVS also builds the more traditional style as well.

Curious - where did you get to do a side by side of the SVS and HSU?

I'm trying to make the same decision VTF-2 or PB1-ISD.

What aspect of the sound from the HSU did you like better? How much of the 'water heater' appearance affected your impression?

I'm leaning toward the PB1-ISD, no water heater look and it's more comparable to the VTF-3 in output I believe.

Thoughts anyone???

IceFrk,

My suggestion is you make up your mind first on the cylinder vs. box design. Then the comparison become more apple to apple. As you know, both Hsu and SVS make cylinders and boxes.

To tell you the truth, the main reason I went with the PB1-ISD over the VTF-2 is that the Hsu was on backorder from EVERY SOURCE I could find online at the time I decided to buy it.

I was actually dead-set on the VTF-2 after hearing it at CES 2003, but I wanted a sub very badly and couldn't wait any longer!

In hindsight, that's a silly reason to choose one over the other, but I don't regret my decision one bit. :P
