I was just looking through some things and found this: http://tv.about.com/b/a/241877.htm
It has 2/2009 as a date, pending presidential approval. Does this keep getting pushed back? I seem to remember hearing that the date was sometime next year.

It keeps getting pushed back, unfortunately. Also, this is digital broadcast TV, not HDTV, not digitial cable, just OTA broadcast TV. Presumably this will also spur the transition to HDTV, but only over broadcast.

Ya, its going to piss a few ppl off that still use antenna's but ya know what, oh well. There are some good reasons to do this. I do feel for the (few) that can't afford anything more than bunney ears but this is progress that is needed.
