I've noticed that the M80ti is Bi-ampable. What does that mean? Can you drive the two bass cones with a separate amp from the one powering the mids and tweeters?

You're correct. You can bi-amp the M80ti, using a separate amplifier to drive the woofers. Typically, the advantage of this arrangement is that you'll have lots of power dedicated to the woofers, where it's needed, and you can get away with a smaller amp for the midrange and hi-frequency drivers. Moreover, where a sudden burst of bass energy were to starve a single amplifer of power available to the midrange and tweeters, bi-amping nicely avoids this situation. The downside? It's an expensive solution for only marginal improvements in sound quality. Still, it's always fun to experiment, and if you have a second amp kicking around at home, you can always try it out.

Thank you Alan.
That's what I was hoping. The M80ti might be the perfect speaker to use my low power (only 8 watts) S.E.T. tube amp for mids and tweets and my old Adcom 200w amp for the bass
Can you tell me the x-over point. Thanks again

Normally biamping of this sort works the best with 2 amplifiers that have identical (or very close) gain. I would venture to say that this would not be the case here. If you have the time, it is definitely worth testing.
