maybe you can get a shelf that is almost as wide as your tv and maybe a little thicker-the width should help distribute the weight evenly across the entire set ......just an idea

Check these out

http://www.omnimount.com/pdf/pdf_pro/specifications/STXspec.pdf

These are the omnimount Pro, you might have to go to a store that sells PA gear, Guitar center or something of that nature, and they will most likely have to order it in special. I have just ordered the WA 20.5 for my M22s. They have wall mounts that can hold up to 120lb speakers. If you put a wall mount, threaded into the back of the speaker you should be able to adjust it so that it is just above the TV, but the weight is not on it.

http://www.omnimountpro.com/

That is the main web site so that you can find the best mount. My wife wants to paint my mounts the same colour as the walls so that you can't see them. It is hard to find a non pro mount that will support the weight of the VP150.

But just be sure to screw into a stud. No drywall ancors will support the weight, and use a 3" screw, and that thing will stay up no matter what!!

tv makers should start to realize that there is a need for cabinet reinforcement and a level area needed for cc placement and build it into the tv tops

Be careful of the way you are interpreting these specifications. The mount will hold 120 lbs. hanging 12" from the ceiling. If you are mounting on the wall and the speaker is 12" from the wall, the maximum weight would be far less than 120 lbs. It would be nice to know what the weight limit would be for this type of wall mount application.

Some of the mounts are made for on wall, and the weight spec is for wall mounting with all the mounts except the ones that specifically say celing. These mounts are designed for PA speakers which are pretty big. That is why I said be sure you get it into a stud with long screws.

I will post more info once I get my WA20.5 brackets for my M22s They should be in in about a week. I was wondering about the strength so I called Omnimount before I ordered them, and they confirmed it will hold a 20lb speaker at full length (about 6") no problem.

If you go to the web site and look at literature you get a pdf document that shows the suze of the parts for the different weight ratings, and everything else that you need to make sure that the bracket you are looking at will do what you want it to.

http://www.omnimount.com/pdf/pdf_pro/literature/ProCatOMounts.pdf

Is the document. I went with the WA20.5 since my speakers are mounted pretty high, and I want to toe them in a bit, and angle them down to the listening area.

I spent a day and a half looking for the brackets that would work the best for me, and I didn't find anything close to the omnimounts.

Don, it seems *to me* from your photo that the curvature of the TV frame due to the weight of the VP150 is minimal ... are you concerned with ascetics or maybe the weight of the CC bending the frame of the TV?

I have a VP150 along with a VP100 and although the VP100 is a very nice center channel I couldn't see giving up the 150 for it.
