Joe, after reading all these posts I regret the fact that I've never had the pleasure of actually interacting with you. You've touched many lives on a personal level and have helped build a company that has touched countless people by offering extraordinary products, outstanding service, and a wonderful forum. I believe your extended family is offering you one giant hug and a heartfelt thanks.

Sean

Going through the Home Theater section I read Amie's message, came to this shocking and distressing news, and now am typing this with tears in my eyes. God bless you, Joe, and my prayers will be with you.

Thanks to DrKen and real80sman for allowing some insight into the life of Joe. Often people hear about a tragedy that has occurred to someone they knew even if only in brief or as an acquaintance. As these odd or amazing facts come to light showing yet another incredible facet of their lives, people often feel a pride in saying, "hey, i knew that guy".

Both my wife and I had the pleasure, however brief, of meeting Joe on our tour and i can honestly say that unlike Alan, Joe actually does look like his photos online. Although our chat was short, he seemed a gentle and thoughtful person.

We will follow Jack's lead in raising a glass to the illustrous Joe Vassallo and echo everyone else in saying we wish you the best of luck!

I posted this on the "What are you listening to tonight?" thread, but thought I would add it here as well...

For some reason right now I've got "My Way" by Frank Sinatra cranked up to about 0dB's. I've been thinking about Joe V's situation and I just thought of this song. From what I've known/heard about this great person, it seemed this song was written for him.

And now, the end is near;
And so I face the final curtain.
My friend, Ill say it clear,
Ill state my case, of which Im certain.

Ive lived a life thats full.
Ive traveled each and evry highway;
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Regrets, Ive had a few;
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.

I planned each charted course;
Each careful step along the byway,
But more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Yes, there were times, Im sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew.
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I ate it up and spit it out.
I faced it all and I stood tall;
And did it my way.

Ive loved, Ive laughed and cried.
Ive had my fill; my share of losing.
And now, as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing.

To think I did all that;
And may I say - not in a shy way,
No, oh no not me,
I did it my way.

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels;
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took the blows -
And did it my way!

God Bless you Axiom Joe

I just wanted to offer my condolences as well. It is extremely obvious how important you are to Axiom and everyone else around here. Thank you for all the little things we don't even know about as I imagine they were numerous.

Joe, I've never had the pleasure of directly speaking to you, but I've known of you even before I officially joined these message boards back in May of '02. As I searched through the posts and saw people with concerns about their speakers, your name came up the most as someone who was always willing to help. As confident as I was in my decision to purchase Axiom speakers, it really put me at ease knowing there was someone who cared about their customers so much as to go the extra mile to make sure they were happy. Axiom is very fortunate to have someone like you. This thread so far is like a testimony of your character and it's been really moving reading everyone's wonderful experiences with you. It's no wonder why people have spoken so highly of you! Please know my thoughts are with you.

Joe, I am new to the world of audio, at least in terms of the quality that you have contributed to the world, and I stand in awe of your accomplishments as well as you as a person.

Upon reading these comments by the readers that have had the priviledge of knowing you, I too feel the sadness of the situation. You and your family are in our prayers.

With any luck, I'll get a chance to see you on the other side... Bud

This stuff is very difficult to read no matter who it happens to. My condolences to all.

You are loved and admired by all who've met you. That's a hell of a testament to a life.
