Also note that Muskoka Brewery is in Bracebridge: about 45 minutes south of Dwight...

Found some Murphy's Stout at one of our local stores, never seen it before, quite an old Irish brewery. If you like Irish style stout, I'm sure you'll like it, very similar but slightly stronger flavour than Guiness though nowhere near as well known. Goes excellent with steak!

Innis & Gunn is already mentioned in this thread but I gotta say it's been my go to beer for a while. I've tried all the ones I can get locally and liked each one. I keep going back to the original. It comes in a six pack.

Some threads may never die. What is dead, may never die. Except in this province where they quit selling Boddingtons English bitter ale which is a Christmas favourite while watching the world juniors tournament. I mean what the hell. Is there some worldwide shortage?

We don't have Boddingtons Draft Bitter in Ontario (AFAICS English Bitter is the unpasteurized version only available in the UK) but we do have Boddingtons Pub Ale.
Wikipedia says that Pub Ale is a higher ABV version of Draft Bitter, so I could probably load up the truck and bring some over if you like.
We're planning another trip out to Boomershoot and my sister is trying to find a way for us to drive her friend's van out to Calgary as part of the trip. So far it doesn't look promising but maybe this throws another variable into the pile.
It's not clear, but it seems likely that production of English Bitter ended in 2012. Reviews of the pasteurized replacement (Draft Bitter) relative to English Bitter are many and colorful, so if you were able to get the real thing out there you may be better off without the pasteurized version.

They may give it a slightly different title here in Canada but it is still an English bitter ale, just not the version they made in-country. It's still better out of the keg than the can but it's the best we can do.
I just don't understand why they don't sell it in this province anymore. I looked to Kenora over the border and they have over 80 cans but i'm not traveling 2 hours there and then back just for that. We cleaned out the province here by ordering whatever was left and had it delivered to our local store. How many people can say they drank out the entire province of a beer??

How many people can say they drank out the entire province of a beer?? Very few, but it seems like a worthy goal
