LOVE Mirror Mirror. I shared my final bottle of an older vintage with friends recently. Just wonderful. I saw various vintages at my local shop yesterday in the $25-45 range, which is too much of an indulgence for me.

Can't say I share the same experience with the Yeti, but I think I have a higher hop tolerance than you do. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it. We'd probably be in the same relative positions on the Ballast Point Sea Monster I enjoyed last night. Silky mouthfeel from the Oatmeal, but really boozy. Bitterness from both hops and roasted grain.

I'll look for the Dragon's Milk. Totally agree about the Bison - I hate thin stouts.

Oh thank god, I was afraid I was insane after reading some reviews of the Bison.

One of my favorite IPAs is the Ballast Point Sculpin. Very balanced, but VERY pricey for a six pack. Luckily there is a restaurant across the street that has it on tap.

Mackeson Triple XXX Stout, really liked this UK stout and will buy it again. Considered a "milk" stout, it has a rich chocolatey malt flavour with a creamy sweet taste.

Next up, Box Steam Dark and Handsome, slight bitter aftertaste, virtually no head on it/very low carbonation, didn't really stand out for me.

I'm pretty sure Trader Joe's used to Mackesons.

I just returned from a week in Portland, where I had a lot (too much?) of good beer. So many good beer bars seem to have adopted a computerized menu system that shows the keg level of all of their taps, and if you "check in" to one of the beers -- I use the Untappd app -- your picture will scroll across the top of the menu. smile

I spent three hours at Cascade Brewing and bought these bad boys to bring home. All three are barrel-aged sour ales.

So, yeah, I just heard about this, and of course I'm gonna try it.

Actually, it wasn't too bad.

Can't forget about a little something for the beer thread.

Taken last summer, somewhere on a beach in NW ONT.
