I logged in this morning to look for the details. Wish I could have been there, and I would have, if I hadn't up and moved away from Virginia.
So, details, please.
Bears, beets, Battlestar Galactica.

No, no. Thank you! I needed a bacon omelette chaser and a couple coffees this morning, but I'm doing great now. For all of you in need of some vicariousness, here's a short run-down of the evening. ( click here for a map) Tom and I met around 5pm at (A on map) Old Dominion Brewhouse and had a beer and some beer tasters, hot wings, and sushi. We then walked to (B on map) Churchkey, where we could have stayed all night. We had too many tasters to properly recall. ( Get a load of their draft list!) So many different styles and all of them lovely. Only one of mine was so-so. We also ordered some sweetbreads, tater tots, and each had a salad. All the food was wonderful. I only have one picture from the evening. This is before the food started coming at Churchkey: After Churchkey, we walked to (C on map) Pizzeria Paradiso where we both started with a Geants Goliath Tripel, shared a couple fantastic 8" pizzas, and had our last beers of the night, Oskar Blues Ten Fidy. Good times. Good times.

Ah, that sounds like quite an evening! I am SO jealous! Great company AND good food and beer. Doesn't get much better than that.

I'm smiling so I must be jealous (I didn't tell you guys about my new little smokin' hottie instructional aid, did I?)
On a side note, you're serious about beer when you put it in snifters, huh?

They snifters was what they served all the tasters in. The full orders came in pints, tulip glasses, tumblers, goblets, etc... They don't mess around.

Macs Ale from Nelson NZ is a good drop if you can get hold of it.

Trader Joe's used to carry "Old Australian Stout" in 25 oz bottles at a really reasonable price (was it a $1.29 or so?). Not a great beer, or my favorite stout, but a good beer at a good price. They used to have all kinds of deals on weird beers that you would never see anywhere else. In high school I used to buy another Aussie brew, Kangaroo Beer?, at TJ's. Not a connoisseur's selection, but plenty good for developing palates on a budget. I prefer Aussie wine - Barossa shiraz, in particular - to Aussie beer, I think.

Ah, keep forgetting to put this in:
Blue Moon, Grand Cru. I like Blue Moon for a day to day drinker (yes, I know it's from Coors...), so I thought I'd see what they would label Grand Cru. Basically, it's just like Blue Moon--drinkable, but nothing special. Had some nice notes, but I'm glad I didn't pay that much for it.
