Sorry that no one has answered your post. I don't think many of us have any knowledge of the MCCORMACK DNA-1. Off the top of my head, the two Ricks(Wid and BrotherBob) have Rotel 1080's with their M80's. And they are not shy about telling us how much they love em'.

We talked ol MDrew into getting one for his M80's too. As far as I can tell he loves his too. Another member, Nscanuck, also powers his M80's with the 1080 and is really happy with the combo.

im sure those are both great amps, but they seem very highly priced, why not get two monoblocks from outlaw? Outlaw M2200 Mono Block the same power at roughly half the price, with xlr inputs too

Hi 84eulbdk,
I have a vague recollection that McCormack is an expensive new British line of amplifiers. I've not heard them, but in a general way, I think you'd be better advised to go with an amplifier brand that has a solid track record over the years.
In that category, I'd include Bryston, Parasound Halo, B&K, Rotel, Outlaw Audio, Anthem, Musical Fidelity, etc. There are others I've probably overlooked. I've left out some brands that have had sporadic quality control troubles.

As a matter of fact, you two did talk me into getting the 1080. Come the think about it, you two seam to influence my buying decisions on a regular basis.
The 1080 WAS driving the 80's, it's driving the Opus 2's now and doing so with rapt enthusiasm. They are not as efficient as the 80’s, but it pushes them just as insanely loud as it did the 80’s and just as clear. I think Rotel and / or NAD are probably the best bang for the buck on the market. They can both keep up with McIntosh level High Fi gear, but for a fraction of the costs.

Hi Hate to disagree with Alan, especially as this is my first post, anyway Mccormack is fron the U.S. and they are a high end company affiliated with Conrad Johnson, make some very very nice gear. their universal DVD player is one of the best sounding on the market.. competes quite well against the $10K LInn etc for only 3K , Thier power amps are very nice and definately a step up from the Rotel, and Parasounds Outlaws etc, but I also dont think youll get into their stuff for the same kinda price as Rotel, So its a matter of what you can afford
LOL me I lust after some of the Higher priced gear but own a parasound
