The VP 150 is supposed to be video shielded for placement near a TV correct?

I have this speaker which I purchased several years ago (2002), and I just moved it to my living room system. It can not be placed on top of my tube TV or within about 6 inches of the top of the TV without causing quite a bit of video distortion.

I'd like to be able to set it directly on the TV. Is there something wrong with my speaker? Does the shielding degrade over time, or could it have been jostled out of position in some way? Anyone know how I can fix this?

Thanks,
Bryan

If you look at the product information on this website for the VP150, it mentions that it is shielded for maximum placement options. Your best bet would be to call Axiom. I would think a 2002 model would also have this, but they can confirm.

Titanium Tweeters
Aluminum Woofers (and Midranges where applicable)
Anti-Standing-Wave cabinets that suppress internal resonances which color sound
Video-shielded for maximum placement options
5-way gold-plated binding posts

Call Axiom. I don't think it's possible for the shielding to degrade, but I could see it falling off, perhaps.

I have the same speaker and I cannot place it on top of my TV either. I had to place it about 6" under the TV on a shelf.

Again, it's the old "Give Axiom a call" answer.
