Hello all!
With some trepidation, I have ordered M80's (HG) without hearing any Axiom product! I am replacing 16 year old Boston Acoustics T1000's. Actually, the drivers are only a couple of years old because of a particularly boisterous listening session during which I managed to melt most of the drivers and both crossovers with my Adcom GFA-555II!
I'm hoping the Axioms are as good as I have been led to believe after reading quite a few posts on this forum and looking at reviews.
I'm somewhat concerned about home delivery, since I live in a small town and there is no DHL "office" here. I'm not sure how I'll take delivery unless they can bring them to me after I get off work. Oh well, I'm sure it will all work out!
Hey, does anybody have a recommended dvd player that would serve as a decent cd player? I'm currently using a 100 dollar Sony unit.

Congrats on the M80s and yes they are as good as the reviews say they are. Looks like you're set in the power department with the Adcom, it's a tried and true performer. Don't know much about the dvd player thing but I do like Sony cd players, even the $100 ones .

Another congrats! As Rick mentioned, I'm pretty positive you'll like your 80's. In regards to DVD/CD players, most DVD players will also be good CD players. good luck..

Egg, welcome. Your trepidation is understandable(after I looked it up in the dictionary), but I'm confident that you'll be delighted with your choice.
As to the player, CD/DVD players have dual lasers which operate at the wavelengths optimum for both DVDs(650nm)and CDs(780nm), so the DVD player is more than a merely "decent" CD player. My own preference is very strongly in favor of the convenience of megachangers and I'd suggest that you consider the Sony units.

Congrats on the new system eggman, hopefully you'll enjoy 'em for a long time to come!
Oklahoma huh? Most of my childhood was spent in the little town of Holdenville, if you know where that is.
