Well written insightful review. I especially liked the comparison with the NHT system.

OH BOY! Now I have a little ammunition for a poster over at AVS (screen name "Alimental") who is an B&M NHT dealer in Arizona. He has a perversely passionate pathological penchant for pejorative persecution of Axiom speakers. He'll enter just about any thread about Axioms to run them down while actively marketing his NHTs. I will enjoy quoting from this review immensely.

Nah! He'll just come up with some claim that the reviewer is an idiot, or his conclusions are biased, or the comparison of the two speakers is "apples to oranges," or some such excuse. And the funny part is, the reviewer had good things to say about both speakers. John, however, could never admit that the speakers are of similar quality.

Well written review, although the author lost of bit of credibility with one of his final comments: "I preferred the look of the Axioms with their grilles off, though that did accentuate sibilants; the NHT’s handsome array of aluminum drivers sound about the same with or without their grilles."
I'm confident double-blind testing would not support the conclusion of acoustically transparent fabric affecting the sound of any speaker.

He is consistent with his B & M speakes are good while internet speakers are bad nonsense. I doubt many people take him seriously though newbies who don't know fall for his doublespeak. The way he bashes Axiom is just pathetic. It makes him an easy target actually.

Jack and John, I spend very little time scanning AVS; do you mean that Mr. Ashman will not be pleased?

John. Ashman is a NHT dealer in New Mexico who goes out of his way to harshly criticize all speakers distributed via an internet channel, Axioms in particular for some reason. Of course he constantly praises NHT. Both brands are pretty good actually but in Ashman's world its no contest. Jack, myself and others have been sparring with him for a couple of years. He talks a good game but his comments don't hold up well. By now most people including me, don't take him too seriously. That's why the recent review will make him uncomfortable. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=740946&page=1&pp=30
