Ian, I currently have the M60Ti for mains, the VP100 cc and use the M3Ti for surrounds on stands.
The VP100 sits on top of my 32" TV inside an entertainment center. The EC stand about 63" high and is about 8 or 9 feet from the viewing position.
Sometimes the VP100 sounds a little tinny or nasal. Could this be due to having the CC inside the EC? Would I likely benefit by going to the VP150?
I suppose the first course of action would be to take the CC out of the EC and try it on top. But that puts it up pretty high.
Any thoughts?

The further back into the cabinet the VP100 is placed the more your EC stand will affect the performance. You could try placing it on top just to see if the performance improves. It seems a bit high up to leave it there but you can make that decision once you have tried it. The VP150 will give you an improved right to left image because of the dual tweeter placement but if the EC cabinet is the problem then this will not help with your particular problem.

Also, try setting the centre channel setting on your receiver to 'Large' and see what you think.

Thanks Ian and Marc for the replies. Sorry to be so long getting back.
Hmm. I think I'll try that large setting first. Thanks Marc.
Ian, I have the VP100 right on top of the TV so it is not sitting back in the cabinet very far at all.. right up front, actually. Still, I wonder how the cabinet affects the sound. Just haven't gotten around to playing around with the VP100 on top of the cabinet yet.
Was curious if others had observed similar tonal characteristics when the CC is inside a cabinet.. or if that might just be a trait of the VP100.

Marc,
I just discovered that my receiver (Onkyo 989) will let me define the CC as large only if the mains are large. As I define my mains as small, my CC choices are none or small.
Oh well.
