Working on my order now. So far the M60, VP100, QS4 surrounds. ITs adding up quick and those stands for the QS4's are $280. I was always going for at least the VP100 as a center. Not sure where you thought I was using M2's for that. I found a center speaker support stand made my Omni that looks like it would work on the TV.

Thanks

Bill

Placed the order, M60 fronts, Vp100 center, QS4 surrounds, and the QS stands. Thanks for the help and I can't wait to get them. I have to go find that center channel support now.

The center and bookshelves will probably have to be the M2 series in each.

Heh... that's where I got the idea you were going with an M2 for the center!

Yeah... when I was suggesting those upgrades, I was hoping there might be some other options than the QS stands for the surrounds. Those are steep in price. If you read a lot of the forum posts, etc., you'll see people talking about how "forgiving" the QS surrounds are for placement, such that they can go just about anywhere in the right general area, including the rear wall. I am in the planning stages, and others have suggested rear wall placement for me, as I'll have some side-mounting difficulties. Wall mounting brings in its own set of problems (wiring... in wall?), but at least doesn't add $280. Nonetheless, I'm somewhat particular about it... and want to get the surrounds to function as well as possible, so I don't know if I'll be satisfied with rear wall placement if it isn't ideal. I'm going to buy my surrounds without the stands... and figure out whether my "bad" side mount option or rear mount option is the way to go. If I'm not satisfied, I'll probably look at the stands (and I've actually considered making my own... a similar design of wood with a weighted base).

NO FAIR! Here I am, posting for weeks... mulling about, trying to figure out what to buy. You fire out one post, get a few responses, and BAM! Order placed. I'm going to go cry now.

I'm sure you'll be pleased! Everyone else seems to be.

If you google a search for "speaker stands" you'll get a few good sites. Racksandstands.com (supplied in kcarlile's post) is one of the sites I've been looking for a center channel stand on. Plenty of nice options.

Heh... dude, I spent two years on the boards before I ordered. And I was pretty sure what I was going to get!

I joined the same month I ordered, but like Ken I read the boards for almost 2 years before. I love this place so I wish I had joined day 1.
