Axiom newbie (soon-to-be) looking to purchase the EP 500 for my HT and 2-channel stereo! If anyone near the New Orleans area would be willing to share a listen, I'd be very appreciative!
Thanks, Ted

Ted, welcome. Although there's no EP500 shown on the audition list for the New Orleans area, the list isn't completely up to date and I'm aware of at least one EP500 there. You might contact Amie or Andrea at Axiom to see if someting can be arranged to accommodate you.

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.

Thanks JohnK!
Got the Axiom EP 500 v.2 last week and have been Really Wow'ed with it's brute output power, finess, articulation and musical accuracy!!!
The EP500 fit my floor plan best, fills my 5300cf home theater (opened to a 2000cf dining area) room with slab shaking, visceral impact bass that extends well beyond audibility (my hearing has been tested @ 0-15db threshold over most of the audible range) and never seems to strain or give up, always well controlled, musical with superb low bass tonality that sounds Right...I'm impressed (so are my neighbors, hehe)!!!
The folks at Axiom (Jean, JC, Alan and Brent) have been Extremely friendly, helpful and professional in adding my decision between the EP500 or the EP600, but I believe the 500 is all I'll need for a Long Time! Well engineered, well made and a Superb performer (now to get the rest of my HT up-to-par)!
Due to my minimal experience with subs, I can only quantify my comments and observations through my study of keyboard and instrumental music for 14 years (lower brass\bass major), a teacher of wind instruments for 5 years, an audiophile for 30 years and a lover of the art of music...forever!
If you need to consider a smaller, more cost effective, but powerful sub-bass system for your large HT setup, consider the EP500, you won't be disappointed!!
Now, if anyone in\around the New Orleans area is interested in an EP500 HT listening session...I'm All Ears!!!
Ted

Before I purchased I let my wife look at all the speakers. I got a "Those are TOO BIG" for the 600. Figured I'd go to two subs for my room anyway and with my positioning they'd block windows. SMS-1 is a must . I live Uptown btw.

Uptown...cool thats not to far from me. I live on the best bank in harvey I am not even going to try for the 600...I know the look I would get already lol. She alreay hates that there are and always will be speakers on the wall (rears) and I told her to get warm nad fuzzy to the fact I will have floor standers soon. I am useing the fact she doesnt like the tall subs for a reason to get new ones....is that wrong of me muahahaha. Is there any chance I can stop by one day and check out your system? I am really interested to see how well that SMS-1 works...that looks to be a cool device! Did it really make that big of a difference?

It really helps compensate for the room, which for me is the problem -- did my HT in a big den, since there's no room on my small chunk o' land for a dedicated HT room. When I ran the graph for the first time I was surprised how uneven my sound was. After equalization the overall punch is just excellent. If only I could talk my wife into room treatments...
PM me if you want to swing by.
