Does anyone have any recommendations for this? I don't really know what it's called, what the proper name is for it. I'm open to suggestions for whatever it is you think I'm asking for, though.

Hmm, i once heard a fellow playing some kind of Chinese flute that made the music literally sound like a flock of birds passing by. High pitched birds at that. I guess this information doesn't help you any though, but i thought the story (and the music) was certainly different.

Check out Yim Hok Man, this CD in particular is excellently recorded and will give your speakers and subwoofer a complete workout. The first track features a huge drum that causes my EP500 to punch me in the chest and flutter my pant legs.

Ooh, ooh, sounds like a good CD to test out my EP600 when I get it. And thanks, JohnK, I'm liking the sound of what you linked to as well. I can't wait for my first big music purchase after the subwoofer.

Lookup 12 Girls Band in Amazon.com. They are a band of 12 girls who play traditional chinese instruments. The twist is they play more contemporary music instead of the typical classic traditional chinese music that chinese grandpas usually listen to (no offense ). Not sure if you would like their music or not, but I personally do

I listened to some sample clips. Seems decent. I might have to order the album with bonus DVD. I always hate listening to samples on my computer. Compressed, and on crappy computer speakers. Ooh, but after I get the Axiom computer speakers, it will just be compressed.

Peter, I finally got that Yim Hok-Man album (the import hybrid multichannel SACD version), and I'm enjoying it so far. Yeah, that first track has some good gut-pummels. I haven't listened to all of it yet, but I really liked track 4 ("Triumphal Return of Fishing Boats"). My mom was listening to part of the disc, too, and she said it was boring. Of course, she's mostly deaf in one ear, so what does she know, right?
