Has anyone here had a custom action figure made for themselves? I've thought about getting one for a long time, so I was curious if anyone here has had one done. I'm not going to have one made that's based on me, and I haven't come up with a character I think is cool enough to make into an action figure, but maybe one of these days. Designing the packaging for the action figure would be just as much fun as having the figure itself made, I think.

You have a personal logo... and now want your own action figure? You're big on the marketing aspect of your life, aren't you?

My action figure would be "Sarcasm Man" and come with:

- removable sideburns
- 18 pairs of shoes - from different athletic shoes to all forms of safety boots, but only one ratty pair of Merrell hikers for daily/semi-formal wear
- the S.M. Dream Car would come with a tetanus shot for use when you cut yourself with a rusty piece, and the stereo therein would be worth more than the car
- the S.M. Dreamhouse would show a schismic split in colour scheme between S.M.'s choices of earth tones and neutrals versus Sarcasm Woman's "the answer to any colour question is 'blue'" choices
- It would also have "Smells Like Peanut Action".

I've owned a couple of those cars

One of our Axiom team had a bobble-head of himself presented to him as a gift from his baseball team. It's the funniest thing ever and really accurate! I guess that's not the same as an action figure though. I did see a show on TV about the process of making a custom action figure of yourself - looks really involved! Do they only make them in California?

Sure, you can make your own bobblehead. A quick Google search turned up this site.

One of the funniest bobbleheads on TV is the Dwight Schrute one on The Office.

I had no idea you could have custom action figures made, just think of the possibilities. What a great time to be an adolesent boy. What does it cost?

I think the axiom team all need to have one made of them. Every speaker comes with a random figure, collect them all! I can see it now- on the action figure section of the forum " Will trade an Alan and a Noreen for an Ian".

Knowing you guys, the prices for an Amie would go into 5 digits.

LOL, Bren, you are right on as usual. I seem to remember Peter posting a non-functional video link to some Axiom wedding night shenanigans. I keep waiting for someone to buy that domain and post something interesting there.

Oh yeah, here's the post in question ...

I haven't done a lot of research, and none of what I did do was recent. I found a couple of places online, but since it was an eventual thing, I didn't get into the details.

I seem to remember it was a couple hundred dollars, and the outcome seemed decent. I'd probably pay more to have something that looks as professional as possible, since I'd probably only do it once.

So I'm engaged to a girl I haven't met, who I only talk to online and on the phone, since that's what cool people do now, and I finally have a good reason to get custom action figures made.

Our wedding is tentatively scheduled for November 11th, 2009. I'll be wearing a dress Gi, and her wedding dress is going to have pockets so she can have her hands in her pockets and look cool during the ceremony. Also, sunglasses might be in the mix, if we actually get married in a hole (her aunt's suggestion). With sunglasses and the low light level in a hole, that's double darkness, where ninjas thrive. We're hoping to have some of those in attendance.

Invitations will prompt people to bring yoga balls. They won't know it, but that will be their seating.

At the end, we're going to super duper high-ten (an airborne double high-five) instead of kiss, and hopefully the clap will be loud enough to wake up any dozers.

Oh, as to the action figures, we were thinking it would be great to save money on a wedding cake by simply having cupcakes, but with huge bride and groom on top. What kinds of weapons should bride and groom action figures have, though?

Let the well-wishing commence... tentatively, in 2009.
