No floods or anything else at my place. I almost wish that were the case because then I could blame this on something specific. Axiom has sent me a new amp for the sub. I'll change it out when I get it and hopefully that'll do the trick. If not I'll try and find a meter and test the fuses eventhough they look fine.
Anyone know where I can find a test meter for fuses in Calgary?

Any multi-meter should do. Set it for resistance w/ tone, touch the leads together and the meter should beep. Touch one lead to each end of the fuse and it will either beep (Complete circuit = Good Fuse) or it won't beep = Bad fuse.

Any Circuit City should have a multi-meter.
Another way is to use a flashlight battery and flashlight bulb. Make a circuit with the fuse in the circuit. The fuse is bad if the light doesn't come on.
If it's a fuse with a glass ferrule, you should be able to see the severed wire inside.

Thanks for the offer but it turns out my wife had one in her extensive collection of tools. Now I feel like a complete idiot because it turns out that 2 of the 250mA, 250V, 5x20mm, Slow Blow fuses are dead. They look perfectly fine, but the meter says they're kaput. I wish I'd have known we had a meter before I contacted Axiom. Now I've got a replacement amp on the way and probably don't need it. Unfortunatley I haven't had any luck locating that exact type of fuse in the city. I've sent Axiom an e-mail to see if I can purchase some replacements directly from them. My plan is to get the new fuses and try them out. If the sub starts working, then I'll send the replacement amp back unopened. But if the changing of the fuses doesn't work, at least I've got the extra amp right here and ready to go. Damn, I wish I'd have know about our multi-meter sooner!
Oh yea, I'll also be investing in a surge protector for the sub, too.

If you get a sacrificial surge protector (the most common type), it will be more expensive to replace than a fuse or two if another surge should happen to come your way.

My blown fuses looked OK, too. I also had a tough time finding fuses in town, but they've got 'em here >> www.mcmaster.com part number 6978K744 Don't know if they ship to Canada or not though. Axiom will get you a set regardless and they are ALOT easier to replace than swapping the entire amp.

Arrgh! I just found some replacement fuses and installed them in the the sub. The power came on as normal, but as soon as I powered-up my receiver, the fuses blew. Good thing I have a replacement amp on the way.
