My EP500 v2 is less than 6 months old and it died on me sometime in the past 2 days.
I played my favorite game on the X-Box 360 Saturday evening--Star Trek: Legacy--for about 90 minutes and all was fine. I left the standby switch on because I knew I'd be watching a movie Monday evening after work. Then today I go to enjoy Die Hard--I want to watch all 3 movies before seeing Live Free or Die Hard next week--and my sub won't come on. The green power light won't come one. The fuses seem fine. The wall plug is working properly. I'm at a loss. When I put my ear to the cabinet and turn on the power, I can hear a faint hum, but the power light doesn't come on and no sound can be heard.
I called Axiom just a few minutes ago, and a helpful gentleman seemed to be as stumped as I. He said they would probably send me a new amp to install in the sub. I'm just waiting for the follow-up e-mail now.
Any ideas?

Bayne, unfortunately no ideas for a cure(presumably the un-plug, wait and re-plug magic doesn't work)other than Axiom sending you out a replacement amp. From what you describe, power is being received from the wall outlet, but the amplifier doesn't respond; sometimes the auto turn-on apparently is defective.

By standby switch I'm assuming you mean the on or off switch, I've never turned mine off in over a year and have had no problems.

My 600 stays on all the time as well, and my 500 before that, not sure I understand your "standby" description?

By standby I simply mean leaving the power on for this model. The instructions also mention to turn off the power when the sub's not being used for an extended period of time. I usually do this if I know I'm not going to be using if for about 4 or 5 days or more.

Any possibility of a power surge, considering all the lightning we have had the past few days? I know at my work we had a couple of surges and had a few light bulbs pop and sparks flying out, just like the movies.

It's a possibility, but nothing else in the house was affected. Our old VCR's clock wasn't even flashing--and that usually resets if you look at it wrong.

I just went thru this. After a lightning storm my EP500 was the only thing not working. Double check all 4, yes FOURfuses on the back panel with a test meter. In my case, the main fuse was OK, but 2 of the 3 small fuses had popped. I had a green power light but no output. Tough fuses to find, too. Axiom sent me a set and I was also able to get them from McMaster.

Same as the lights, nothing else flickered or went out, till a few minutes later anyway, another strike. Or are you just omiting the fact that your sub was in fact being a sub for a little while. Our warehouse had geysers coming up through the floor cracks as the pipes couldn't handle the deluge. Haven't we had fun the last few weeks?
