Does anyone know if the midrange speakers are identical in the M60's and M80's?
I did send a question by e-mail to Axiom, but I'm guessing it may not get read until Monday.
Thanks for your help.
If I were truly plastered, could I do this?

I'm thinking they are but I could be wrong, just 2 of them versus 1 on the 60's. I also believe the tweeters and woofers are the same, but again, I've been known to be wrong.

somehow, I have a blown midrange in a 60 (funny...no one admits to having it cranked too loud) and a pair of 80's sitting idol in my theatre room due to some flood damage to my basement I really do not want to move the speakers as the short term fix, so I was going to swap out a midrange and wait for a replacement for the 80. I suppose I could just take the them out and compare, but I thought I'd ask the question first. hey, thanks for your response...even if you didn't know for sure...it's nice to know that someone out there is listening

I would bet dollars to donuts that they are the same.

update...
the midrange speakers are the same part number...but, the woofers are not the same part number
oh yeah...it was a woofer that was blown...not the midrange, but I still swapped them out...the amp hasn't blown up, yet
but, if it does...of course I'll post pics of it burning

That makes sense. Since the M60 is an 8 ohm speaker, Axiom could double up the 8 ohm midrange and tweeter to get 4 ohms.
That wouldn't work for the woofer though -- the M60 already has two woofers so the (presumably) 16 ohm M60 woofers would need to be replaced with 8 ohm woofers for the M80.

Let us know if you hear a difference with the M80 driver in there. I'm really curious.

I was referring to the midranges because that's what he figured he blew . The woofers are of course a different story.
