Uhmmm...I think Bose is to Kenwood HTIB as Mercedes is to a Skoda.

I don't want to pump up your expectations too much. You will hear somewhat of an improvement with the Axioms \:\) .

I had some Polk bookshelves before the Axioms. My initial reaction was that they were not a revelation, but as I listened to more and more material, I realized that I really had been missing a good deal of the sound. I imagine a difference will be readily apparent if you're moving up from an HTIB, but if it doesn't blow you away right off, give it some time and throw a wide range of material at the Axioms.

You have the 80s, right? You really need to A/B the Polks with your Axioms. Then tell me if they are a revelation or not.

From a small Sony Satellite HTIB to my M60s, EP500 & QS8s was a revelation and I can even define it. Biggest thing for me was that I learned to appreciate a lot of music I normally would never have listened to. I call that a revelation of sorts.

Excellent! I bought my system in 5 steps and all 5 were dealt within a day! Axiom+Puralor are a good combination!
