I have an Onkyo 805, I am currently driving front and center channels which are 8 ohm and my reciever does indeed run hot, much hotter than my former HK with the same speakers. That said I do like the feature set and will eventually use it as a pre amp.

I still do Jack!

Okay, so I am out of touch and had the wrong impression. Just added Onkyo to my short list. Thanks everyone.
