I have an Onkyo 805, I am currently driving front and center channels which are 8 ohm and my reciever does indeed run hot, much hotter than my former HK with the same speakers. That said I do like the feature set and will eventually use it as a pre amp.

Forgot to mention that I drove M60s, VP150, and QS8s with an older Onkyo TX-DS797 with absolutely no problem.
