Ok, last Wed night I ordered my speakers and decided, hey since its a free upgrade I'll go with the high gloss cherry. Sure, it means that I'll have to wait an extra few weeks, but it'll be worth it - the finish looks great. Then Friday mid day I get an email from Noreen at Axiom that my speakers have just shipped and I should have them in a few business days! Can this be true, I called to confirm that they shipped the high gloss cherry and Noreen assured me yes - I was just lucky they were in. Could it be a ruse...is Noreen really a cruel person who does this to everyone - only to laugh at them every night?....she sounded so nice! I'll keep holding my breath, but can't believe that I'll be listening to my new system in a few days (M60, VP150, QS8's by the way). AXIOM ROCKS!!!!!!!!

You should be seeing your speakers tomorrow, unless they end up in shipping purgatory for a day or 2.

Enjoy!

little further south (in Austin TX). Though I grew up in Boston and played hockey through college (at Northeastern University). Thought this might have provided some preferential treatment from our neighbors to the north. FYI, people always think I'm from Canada when I say "out" and "about" - gotta be the hockey influence.

I think your going to like the HG cherry finish. Its quite a step above the standard finishes IMO.

Had to wait 4 weeks for mine and it was worth it. I think you will like the HG finish.

Major,

When you get your speakers in, I have an AVIA disk and a sound level meter. Be glad to help you set them up if you like.

Sounds like you are getting a cold or a bad case of Cedar Fever... \:\)

Thanks WhatFurrer....I'll have to take you up on that offer. (cough, sniff) The speakers are supposed to show up on Thursday - though DHL tracking says the boxes were sent to the wrong location and are on hold, but they'll still be here Thurs...(hack,cough,cough) hopefully they do, we have family coming in from Boston this weekend so if they don't I'll be forced to leave them in the box until next week. (or stay up late at night)

THEY'VE ARRIVED! Now if there was some way to get out of work early. Looks like I'll have a late night tonight. \:D

how easy is it to fish a line through the wall? I'm running my surround speaker wire along the wall, but I'm going to put the final piece up through the wall so that I don't have the exposed wire on the wall itself.

Can't wait to see them and get them set up!

Major, with some fish line (tape) it shouldn't be that bad to fish the wire up. It will help if you have someone assisting you to fish the line.

They showed up yesterday!!!!!! I got the L/C/R set up last night. They sound fantastic - have some tweaking to do, especially on my HSU sub, then I have to mount the QS8's. One of the towers had a small scratch on it - its on the side an only about 1.5" so its not too bad (nothing's perfect I guess). Can't wait to get everything set up and tweaked over the next couple of weeks. \:D

no, it wasn't from the factory outlet. My first thought is that I wanted a replacement, but didn't want to seem to be a dick about it. I would love to have it be perfect (the finish is incredible). I also need them to send me two new spikes, threads were messed up on two of them and wouldn't go in all the way...had to use the rubber feet for now.

Think I should be requiring a new front for the scratched one?

If I paid for new non FO speakers I would expect perfection. Call Axiom and see what they say.

I would ask for another non-scratched product.

When I got my EP500, the box had a big dent in in. I was mortified. Took a picture before opening it, then holding my breath, opened the box.

The in rear corner, it was a bit scratched/crushed. I thought about asking for a new one, but opted not to. Why? I figured I would always have the scratched corner towards the wall (out of line of sight) and Axiom would be out another EP500 to replace mine. So in the end, I figure I would (passively) support the company.

FYI. Talked to customer service tonight and told them about the cut in the vinyl. Rep sounded almost hurt that a product went out not 100% perfect. Asked me to take a picture of it and they'd get a replacement out to me immediately. Blown away by the customer service of Axiom. The sound of the speakers is unreal...the finish (aside from the cut) is top notch. Could I get a better quality speaker...yeah if I wanted to spend 10x as much I guess - but I would never want to buy from another co. Their people are the best I have ever dealt with in any purchase. I'll be telling every person that they have to at least give Axiom a listen. I'm sure my old one will eventually find a very good home out of the factory outlet, so I'll sleep well at night. Is it wrong for a grown man to cry over new speakers? Best part of my new HT. (pictures to be posted in the next week or so).

No suprise Axiom is replacing the flawed speaker. They are second to none when it comes to CS.

Make it 4. The M3's for my dad went to the wrong distribution center as well, but did arrive on the original indicated day, so there was no delay. Actually, he had one package, the portfolio that comes with the VaSSallo's, that arrived a day early!

My HG Cherry Epic 80-500 system came with mis-aligned vinyl sheets.
Very noticeable for a full price purchase. I took pictures and
sent then to Axiom. They gave me a very small store credit and
suggested I use a magic marker to hide the flaws.

I have since had good luck with their CS,
but after spending that much I was
at first very worried about future service.

I think you are supporting dhl/purolator/whoever. I am sure that axiom has some type of insurance on items that are not shipped with proper care.

Both of my m80 boxes had huge gashes in the side and you could see the speaker straight through the box. Fortunately, there were no scratches on the speakers themselves. If there was a large scratch/dent that was due to shipping you better believe I would send it back.

You're probably right, now that I think about it. But there also was a laziness factor. That 500 is pretty heavy and the thought of putting it all back in the box wasn't too tempting!

It depends on how big of a problem it was. When you say 'crushed' I think of something major.

Anyway, Mine was a factory outlet purchase so I would have to determine if any dents/ect. was beyond normal FO condition and that the damage was indeed due to shipping.

If I was purchasing a high gloss or vasallo upgrade I would expect perfection.

BTW, I am very happy with my FO purchase. There is a scratch on the back of my 500, and that is pretty much it out of all 6 speakers.
