Hi all, my shipment of speakers are on the purolator truck for delivery. But outside is very moist and cold...about -11. Will they just drop it off in front of my house? How will the cold affect my speakers ;(

Purolator requires an authorization/signature for it to be delivered by someone or else it stays in the system until someone signs for it.

Unless you left a signed note for them to leave it, you will get a 'doorknocker' left and it will let you know that you can pick up your stuff at "insert closest center here" or it will be redelivered again tomorrow.

Are you sure? Last time they left my M22s outside. \:\(
but my daughter was home early so she moved them inside for me.
I doubt she can move these ones as easily if they do leave it...

I just got a note myself! I missed the truck by 2 minutes... Good thing it's just conectors! \:\) Out of 9 deliveries, I missed 4 and all 4 times they left the note for me to either pick up or schedule a second attempt.

Yea but ... will the cold damage the speakers? I'd probably bet not, but what do I know about those kinds of temps.

Happens all of the time down here. I'll be driving down the road with my heater blasting and some very white couple will pass me by in their rental Sebring convertible, during the same drive I'll go over our bridge to the barrier island and I'll see some of them very white folks swimming, laying out in their bathing suits on their lawn chairs, crazy! Don't take 'em long to turn red though, lot's of bright cheeks here in the winter time. \:\)

I'm still wondering if the cold will damage the speakers, for some reason I'm thinking it will not.

Right you are - cold will be fine. The couriers don't heat the speakers in their trucks or planes so it won't be any different at your place - no problems.

(Except trying to get those cold staples out!)

I would recommend you bring the speakers in and let them get used to the indoor temps before you use them.

I would bet they went DHL last time or it was a new courier and he didn't know Purolator's policy.

The amount of freight that ends up coming back from residential runs is mind boggling, especially before and just after Christmas.

Yeah, not very hard to pick out who are the tourists eh? On our last trip to TB/St. Petes a couple of my favorite stereotypes were:
-lobster red guy from Wisconsin with a Bud Light in hand at all times.
-Local retired guy with dark leathery skin from too much tanning.

but man, the armed security guards at the publix freaked me out the first time I saw them.

My speakers were in the cold last year on delivery, it was no problem.

Well...bad news guys. I went to pick them up....and one of the M80 is Broken. the MDF showing and box destroyed. I am so mad. The stupid old lady at purolator was also giving me a hard time. I was saying how can this happened and how your company just throw your customer's stuff around. The she scolded at me: "I DIDN'T DO IT, DON'T TAKE IT OUT ON ME. CALL THE 1-800 NUMBER!!!" I told her, I am not saying you did it...but boxes left axiom in good order and now they are broken. So it is YOUR company. Not you, don't take it personal."

It is awesome how these employees represent their company.

on the other hand...I called Axiom. The customer service sent me an expedited replacement no questions asked and they will take care of the other end with Purolator.

All I can say is, customer service rep represent the motto of the company. Definitely, we can see who value their customer to those that don't.

TWO Thumbs up for AXIOM!!! \:\)
TWO Thumbs down for purolator!

This is always frustrating when couriers don't respect their customers. Same thing happened to one of my replacemnt 500 amps, looked like it got run over by a tank.

The reality is that shipping something 2000 miles isnt a delicate process and most of the employees could care less as your box is just one of thousands that they throw around each day. They still get their union bargained wage whether its intact or not.

Unfortunately, most customers are livid and need to take it out on the front line person at the customer service desk, when again....its just another one of thousands of packages they see each day.

Sorry to hear of your bad fortune, but dont shoot the messenger, or the customer service person. Its most likely the forklift driver that deserves the wrath....or the mechanic as Jakewash can attest to. \:\)

As long as they wear "Purolator" uniform, to me they are representing their company. A company's integrity is not shown from top down. When it comes to mishandled package. Maybe instead of denying his/her responsibility, apologizes on their company's behalf? To me I could careless who did it. All I know is purolator did it and she is part of the company.
Anyhow, I was not even rude to her, I was just asking her how can this happen?
Why am I getting the shot, even though I didn't give her one?

Rude is Rude, it is not my job to understand how many package they see a day, however, as I see it. It is their job to care about those who ultimately pays for their wages.

I see it every week when I pickup or ship out stuff at the courier my company uses. The guy at the desk is taking heat because somebody is there to pickup a package and its not there. Its out on delivery, scanned out from one warehouse, but not received at their warehouse yet, or it hasnt cleared customs yet.

You were not rude, most of the customers I see harrassing them are. I dont see a lot of damage complaints, but those are normally worse as the customer is bitching out the guy at the desk, just because he is the bearer of bad news. Accidents sometimes happen and the shipper must put in a claim for the damaged item and ship you a new one. Its crappy and thats unfortunately how it works, but I used to see it all the time in my summer job back in highschool

If all you did was ask her how it happened and she snapped, that isnt right. I would have just told you that "it looks like it got run over by a forklift, sorry for the inconvenience and the shipper will have to put in a claim against Purolator". I bet that still wouldnt make you feel better.

I'm a salesrep, I dont work in shipping. I just think that in general customer service people take too much crap in Calgary because everybody wants their stuff yesterday. I saw some lady bitch out somebody at Tim Hortons because it took her too long to get her coffee. Its crazy.

Good luck on your next shipment. Enjoy the speakers when the show up.

Honestly, an apology would have made me feel a lot better (although it won't change the fact I am still unhappy). I understand accidents do happen, but it is how they are handled that distinguish the winner and the looser. I don't feel people should give the heck to the service agent, but I feel I was being taken for a fool. (BTW, my beta50...same thing happened...so it is not the first time)

Hey Frostiex, I so feel your pain! I had a preamp arrive once with half of it hanging out of the box. It had a big dent, but worked fine. In my case I blame the seller for poorly packaging it and the UPS Store he went to that told him it was packaged fine. It had about three feet of bubble wrap randomly thrown around it. Horrible! At least Axiom knows what customer service is all about! hang in there! The Axioms are worth the wait!

It's amazing what a simple "I'm sorry it happened and for the inconvenience" will do for customer relations.

Just wondering out loud here as you are from Calgary, when was the last time you had really good customer service here? Our labor shortage shows itself at these levels the most. People that would normally not be hired for these positions are now being hired as companies can not find good people to hire for these front line positions.

You trying listening to people rant and rave to you all day long and you would probably be the same way. Its just a job, the stuff was damage what you gonna do. I have been in a position many times where I am taking crap from someone because of my bosses. Usually I will sypathize with them and agree, whatever to make them calm down and be happy and to understand its not me you need to be mad at. I work here, I have no control over it. Then there have been times when I just sit there and pay no attention to their raving and just let them pop off about whatever they want. ;\)

My replacement M80 was shipped yesterday...and it is being delivered TODAY!!!!!

How much better can a company stand behind their customer? Purolator should learn a thing or two from Axiom.

Finally have some time to spend with the Axioms.

-Very nice, definitely noticed a significant upgrade to my beta50. I find not only can the M80 play LOUD...but base is tight and precise.
Qs8 is very good for surround, But I still find it missing something for music compare to the M22's. Right now I have 6.1 setup. Will prolly get another QS8 to complete the 7.1 in the near future and a new Sub when my budget permit.

I did hook up the m22, VP150 and the QS8...and I find the beta50 tower I have was very "undefined"(not sure what other word to use??) I don't mean to say the Beta50's are bad, they are good speakers but the Axioms sounds to be just in a class of its own.

Very nice. I am hoping after the break in period, these Axioms will sound better.

I watched Spiderman3 and Charlotte's web(my son really wanted to see it :P) During one of the scene when it was raining in the farm, I can hear precisely the rain drop's different distance surrounding me. It was an amazing and some what weird feeling. Definitely not something I have felt before.

I am hoping to get the Elton 60 Blu-Ray. I have heard some great things about it. I can't seem to find it anywhere locally. Its all sold out. Any other demo material you folks suggest?

thanks for the support, you guys are great!!!
