Hi all,
Am finally getting around to the basement remodel for my new Pio elite plasma. Have been looking high/low for the best on/in wall speaker set-up I could find. Stumbled onto Axiom and am quite excited by what I have read and seen. My room is roughly 13'x20' with just under 8' ceilings. Am seriously considering the Epic GR Mstr 350. Price is a concern but not a limiting factor. Any input and/or options would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

That will be a great system for your room. If it's not too late, put some 12 Ga. speaker wire in the walls for your surround/rear speakers.

xzlr8, welcome to the forums. I have Epic grand master 500 system in a 14'x26' great room and am extremly pleased with its performance. I haven't listened to an EP350, so I can't tell you anything about it. The EP 500 is an awesome sub, it can shake the whole room and might be worth your consideration if you want a lot of LFE.

Thanks DG. That was my next Q if the EP 500 would be overkill in a rm this sz. If not, that shall be the direction I go.

My room is 2150 cubic feet.

It is open to a fairly large kichten and a hallway though.

I have the ep 500 and it is definitely not overkill.

In fact, I am thinking about getting a second one to smooth things out \:\)

It has been said before, no sub should be overpowering in any size room when calibrated properly. Having the EP500 just means you can move into a larger room and not need to upgrade.

Where are you? Probably a EP500 near you.

I'm sure one of the new 350v3's would be fine as well, but if budget allows the 500 would also rock the house. \:\) The factory outlet would save you 10% as well..

Why are you scared? They are said to sound as good as the M22s and the M22s are an excellent speaker.

Although I've not listened to the W22, it is supposed to be an acustic equivelent of the M22; which have great clarity and detail and the ability to play very loud in a room the size you describe. Combined with the EP 500 they should provide very good sound for both music and movies.

Thanks guys, that helps. Have another Q? What if I did 3 W150's in the front vs 2-w22 and 1-w150. Would that be an aprreciable upgrade or a waste of $.

I believe there is a setup like that somewhere in FL. It certainly looks impressive, but some sacrifices were made for aesthetics (mainly mounting all speakers near the ceiling and horizontally. I know that Alan and Ian have tested VP150s in vertical configuration and were pleased with the result. I don't know how much of an upgrade over W22s that would be.

Any particular reason you're concerned?

I doubt if using 3 W150s vs W22s& W150 would provide a significant audio anvantage if any. To me it wouldn't make sense in performance per $$$$.

Wahoo! I just pulled the trigger on the Epic GM 500 in/on wall system. Ordered in the Gloss Cherry w/black grills and wall mounts for QS8's. The balance of the system will be Pio Elite VSX-92TXH recvr, Pio 6010 Plasma, Pio 95FD Blue Ray. Thanks so much for all of the advice and hand holding, you guys rock as do the Axiom bunch. The wait begins.........

You're going to have a nice system there, congrats on the speakers.
