Just thought I would leave a quick note to thank all of you for your advice. This is one of the most helpful boards I have seen. I am also amazed at how quick reponses are left.

The system is coming together nicely:

Pioneer Elite VXS-47TX reciever
Panisonic L300U Front Projector
Da-Lite 106" HCCV scrren
Philips progressive scan DVD (considering a Bravo but open to suggestions)
Shopping for replacment of older Sony VCR
Axiom M60's Front
Axiom VP150 Center (coming Tuesday)
Axiom Q8's Surrounds (coming Tuesday)
Axiom M2's for rears (coming Tuesday)
Auditioning HSU and SVS subs next week and will keep the winner
Speaker stands on order
Shopping for a rack

I owe many of you thanks for your insight and helpful comments.

Spiffy,

Great! So, you ordered both, right? It seems that VERY few people have actually A/B compared the Hsu and SVS subs in the same room. PLEASE come back and post your detailed impressions here. I am sure your report will make this forum even more useful place!!!

I will do, Sushi. I may even keep both depending on the outcome. I have another setup in the family room that could use a new sub. The runner-up might be able to fill that gap.

Spiffy,
I just bought a Pioneer Elite VXS-47TX yesterday. What a beast this thing is! Are you getting along with yours? I'm elated to have it but setting this thing up is a bit daunting but I'm working on it. Any advice or comments on this receiver would be much appreciated.

Curtis - I ordered the 20-39 PCi and the VTF-2. The Pioneer Receiver has two sub outputs. I figured I would start with one sub and if I need more, I would just add another one.

MWC - I'm just hooking up my 47TX today (using old speaker until the new ones come on Tuesday. I've spent the last two weeks studying the manual during my lunch hours. I was delayed in setting this up since I had to complete more work in finishing off the area that will store the equipment. I'll let you know how it goes.

Cool! I've got mine up and running. The auto-setup (eq,levels, delay etc.) is fantastic. It appears that it eq's 9 bands and something called "wide". Haven't figured out the "wide" thing yet. This is so much fun!
