How would this combo sound compared to the M60? I will be driving them with a Onkyo TX 8522 100W. I have a relatively small listening room but will be building a house with a average size listening room. I already have the M3's and can't decide whether to spring for the sub or the M60's. I wouldn't rule out the M80's if they are not overkill. Thank you, John

no such thing as overkill, in my opinion. How big is your current room, and future room? What are your listening habits? If your just concerned about music listening, you may just go for the 60's or 80's. However, for HT and movies a sub is nice. You may want to consider the new 350v3 though if budget allows. Also, consider purchasing from Axioms factory outlet to save 10%.

The tx 8522 only has 2 channels with no dedicated sub output, that would count out the 350v. Music would be about 95% of my listening. My current room is 10 x 15. My new room will be approx. 14 x 18. I listen to rock, country, some classical and a little jazz.

Why would that count out the EP350? Even if it doesn't have high level outs (I'm too lazy to check right now), you can always use the tape outs on the TX8522 to feed the sub. I did that before I got a HT receiver.

Does the receiver have 2 sets ("A" and "B") of speaker outputs? Could connect the sub that way. That's what I did with my integrated amp before I switched to the 5.1 system.

Mark, right you are. I got used to walking over to the sub and adjusting it.

Funny that this came up, my Earthquake sub came with a remote that has been lost for 2 years. I just found it yesterday while packing up the house for a move and was ecstatic. It'll make setup in the next HT a LOT easier!
