movie time. got everyting up and running this friday. no real tweaking or indepth set up of any of the equipment has taken place yet, but i am still blown away! this was not a DIY project. i had a contractor for the basic construction of the basement. the HT plan / design was all me. i did the low voltage wiring and some sound proofing for the basement. so far i am very happy with the axiom purchase. they arrived safe and sound in solid packaging. the stands came complete with a nice little tool set to put them together. the speakers are beautiful in appearence and sound. thanks to all who helped me with the purchase. ( my speaker thread) now here are some pics. slideshow i'll be back with plenty of set up questions. just right after the movie. later.

Lookin ready for some movies.
Just wondering what the stain is that you used? It looks like the color my wife wants for the kitchen cabinets.

thanks guys. just watched another movie tonight. man, i forgot how much i loved movies!!
the front wall and ceiling are Behr Mickey Mouse Ears Flat Black. the paint is amazingly non reflective. it marks up fairly easy, but unless you shine a spot light (or camera flash) on the walls you dont even see it.
the side and rear walls are Behr Vin Rouge (wine red) in eggshell. a bit more durable, but still difficult to clean. both paints required 3 coats and still need some touch up.
the wood work in the HT is maple wood with a mahagony stain. it has a bit of red in it, but is fairly dark. it really gives off a high end look and feel, without the high end cost.
later.

Very nice setup! I know what your talking about with the flat black. My front wall is in Leather Jacket black and because of the nature of flat paint, it does mark up easy so I keep the kids away.

i know a lot you are running the Belkin PureAV PF60 power counsel because i found it while surfing around this board :). i wonder how do you have it set up? right now i have my banks all switched ON with no Delay.
i dont really see the point to having to switch them on at the Belkin or have a delay. how are you using yours?
thannks.

I always liked the dedicated theater room idea. I dont see a PS3 in any pics??? Where did you place the SUB? Someday i will have to do the samething. What size screen is that? It looks like 120" or 130" my screen 130 painted onto wall!

sub is in the back left corner. its too big for the front wall, well too tall for sure. i have not had a chance to really calibrate / setup the speakers yet, but it sounds decent back there. i ran sub cable to the side of the seating and front wall too. no PS3, this is a dedicated home theater, not a game room i am running the panny bd30 for BR and toshiba a30 for HD DVD. screen is 119" Screen Research. i dig the velvet covered frame. later.

Sorry, I'm sure I missed this in earlier posts, but what type of sub is that in the corner?

eD A3-300 they have a big following over at AVSforum. eD Thread @ AVS they are high end on performance and low end on looks. i dont have it fully tweaked yet, but so far me likes. great bang for your buck. later.

I would consider one if the ones I could afford (and passed waf) didn't have a lovely big port on the front that the boy could put all his toys into...

Very nice looking room. Loved the inset cabinetry. There should be a little alcove built into the wall for the dog to cozy up in too. He is looking in the room like maybe you removed his favorite chair or something to build this thing.
With great power comes Awesome irresponsibility.
