Here's a shot from a proud new dad, second time around...let me introduce you to Tyler Giuseppe Hay born on Thursday April 3rd.

Here's proud big brother Braeden, turning 4 on the 30th which is also the same b-day as dad (33 this year)

Congrats. There must be a story behind that middle name.

My wife was born in Canada but both of her parents are from Italy and she has a very Italian family. My background is 2nd generation Canadian and my grand parents and such are from England, Scotland and so on. So we don't have close ties to our heritage as nothing stands out too much. So I consider my wife's side a very important part of my 2 sons heritage. So we decided to give them both Italian middle names, my first son is Braeden Salvatore after her father. My second son Tyler Giuseppe is after her mothers father.

I already started the savings fund for gold chains and Irocs.

Very cool. I like the idea of including heritage. My son's middle name is my ex's last, Fraser.

One of the few things I still remeber from when my kids were younger is that new-parent-buzz. One of the true highs of ones life.

Graeme, we also gave our 2 son's middle names based on each of our father's names. My families tradition for a few generations has been to take one of the grandfather's name for the first male born. My middle name was taken from one of my grandfather's names as was my father's taken from his grandfather etc. It sure makes for easy geneolgy. I have received the odd phone call looking for relatives to my grandfather and even great grandfather, this tradition sure made identifying them easy.
