Looking for a decent, but inexpensive, plain jane stereo receiver to drive a pair of Algonquins. Want to connect Apple Ipod to receiver..via 1/8 to RCA into AUX.
This is for a outdoor pool area..
Looking to spend under $400 for receiver.
Recommendations please !
Thanks !!

Don't have a problem with that.. warranty maybe..but what brand ? I like Yammy, Pioneer, Marantz, Onkyo, don't want to touch Sony,RCA etc.. in other words, a good and solid receiver..
in our times of $300 complete HT systems in a box, I should be able to find a good 2 channel, 75W approx, plain jane stereo receiver.. ie: AUX, Tuner, .. and the rest that won't be used ie: phono, tape in / out. And if if has a " speakers B " .. even better, I can hook up 4 Outdoor clad M3s, otherwise known as Algonquins.

Try HarmanAudio.com. I bought a HK3485, a great two channel amp for $239.00 a couple of months ago.

Marantz just about anything modern or 40 years old. Well, if you trust the 40 year old ones to actually function. I've got a Marantz SR80-II or something like that.
