Anyone found nice stands taht actually fit the VP150? I'm looking for something that's wood. Found plenty of Glass and metal combos. I also have a 72" RP, so I can go big on the stand. Any suggestions woudl be great.
Thanks.

I don't have a particular stand in mind but have you tried Racks and Stands? I know some people here have recommended this site before with high praise.

Thanks ptRyno. The problem has been that most of the stands I like have a center channel an inch or two too small. Some of them have drawers that are removable, but many of them don't have specs on the size without the drawer.
I'm trying to find some local dealers that have the ones I like in stock, so I can go measure, but so far have had no luck.
I guess the search will continue...

Just found out that the Furnitech FT72TR with the drawer removed will work! 28" . It's a nice looking stand, more traditional looking and only 72" wide, unlike some of the others that were gettign up near 77+.

IF you search for a post of my ht setup, you will see a stand that fits the VP150 perfectly. I'll see if I can find it.

Pretty nice. Thanks for posting that Daniel. I like the style.
Out of curiosity, how many components do you have in there? I guess I left that out of my post. I need to put in a Directv DVR, Denon 3808 Receiver, PS3 (with IR), 200 Disc CD Changer (if I don't trash it and just use WMP from my PC) and maybe a DVD player (oppo upconverting - better than the PS3).

The Synergy from Salamander can add a top shelf with enough height for a VP150. I know because I considered it.
Bear in mind that Salamander isn't cheap though.

Not to my knowledge, as long as the front face is flush with the shelf it is on to keep reflections down. The VP series is a sealed speaker - remember? It doesn't need to breath.

Thanks Jason. Since that is the last thing in my system that I dont have ....I forgot that its sealed.
I'm getting close to getting my VP150, or a Denon DRA-397 to drive my M3's in the family room instead of my 30 year old technics amp. Just dont know which is first.

It's been a couple of months since I built a cabinet to fit my VP150, and I love it. The front of the speaker is slightly proud of the rest of the cabinet, and the audio quality is great. This CC is a wonderful speaker. http://picasaweb.google.com/vycogh/2008_03_08/photo#5175903651494132674

I love that cabinet and the non-parallel walls.

Well that's the problem with using a shelf for the speaker. I can only put the components on the bottom shelf. I have my receiver and htpc in the lower cabinet. My digital cable box is on the floor underneath. Depending on the height of your components you could fit a dvd player and the Directv DVR on top of each other on the bottom shelf.
The PS3 won't fit on the floor underneath the lower shelf. I tried, it's too high.

DBD - great looking cabinet. How long did it take you to build something so nice?

I use the Furnitech FT72CC, which fits the VP150 perfectly with room to spare. We have the wenge color, which is a dark brown, that looks great with different types of equipment and furniture. Our 60" plasma was sitting on it, and it looked and worked great as well, but we did end up mounting the plasma. It all looks nice together. Furnitech FT72CC

I have the Boston Cherry and am wondering if the Wenge or light cherry will look nicer. Thanks.

I have Black Oak Axioms. I think the Wenge would likely work fine with Boston Cherry Axioms, but the light cherry looks like it would work fine as well. The Furnitech holds a ton of equipment, and my wife even loves the appearance, and she's tough to please.
Also, with this type of stand, where the VP150 is below the TV, don't forget to turn the VP150 upside down from how you would have it on top of the TV. That's the beauty of the VP150--it's made to point down on top of a TV, and point up in a stand below the TV.

Thanks Gem. I actually have them sending some wood samples, so we'll see. The Furnitech has gotten a high WAF score for me too. I think I'm going with the FT72TR, removing the drawer and adding a shelf in the center for the VP150. It looks like this unit also holds a lot of equipment, which is good.

Are you sure the FT72TR will work? Several sites say the center channel compartment on that stand is under 27" wide, while the VP150 is 27.5" wide. I'd make sure there won't be a problem before you order that one. It looks nice though.

Based on ND's above post it looks like he is planniong on removing a drawer and adding a shelf for the center.

9.3"H x 26.18"W x 14.9"D" terzaghi is spot on. I spoke to a guy at Furnitech, and had an owner of one of these measure theirs for me as well. It seems the middle space is 28"+ with the drawer removed (and the drawer rails too). However, there is no shelf, so I will just install one on my own. Should be an almost perfect fit and fits the style I want to a tee. Now I have to figure out how to get a nice shelf to put in there. I will be going to pick this up from their warehouse in NJ (they gave me a very good deal on a direct pick up), and they agreed to let me inspect the whole thing before making the purchase. I will be putting a lot of equipment in this thing, maybe even 2 receivers (for multizone), and I think it will work perfectly.
