Hi,
I take a look in the picture thread and many of you are not using the grille for your speaker... Is this only for the photo or you found that they look better without?
And is the grille have an impact on the sound quality?
Thanks,
Eric

Oh, mine's definitely only for photos. I've got a 1 year old.
I've never heard a difference in sound quality between grill and no grill.

Grills off all the time. My current speakers don't even have grills.
I don't have kids. That's a major factor.

Me too. Grills required for the cats. Also keeps the cat toys out of my EP500 port. Or it least it should have.........

Grills on for me. Has cat, but I would have them on anyway as I prefer not to see the speakers too much.

Mixed in my house, VP150 is up high so it is naked, the M80s have the grilles on, as I too have kids. The other set up M22 and VP100 are usually without grills.

Grilles on. My M22s are wall-mounted, but the woofers are within reach of my tall 4.5 year-old. I prefer that he doesn't know what's behind the grilles, so I've never removed them in his presence.

Grills off. No cats, no young kids, so no issues there. The frames of the grills are pretty thick, so it might effect dispersion, but I have not looked into that and am not sure I could hear the difference anyway. I've only have the M80s for a week, and they look great with the grills too, so I might switch.
Most of the time when I listen to 2-channel I close my eyes, so the busyness of all 12 of those drivers does not bother me. On my HT system, grills on for sure, all those thumpin' drivers are a total distraction!

Another good argument for grilles is a Yellow Lab who thinks he is Indiana Jones with his tail.
I also have a friend who can't seem to eat a barbecued hamburger without spraying mustard out the other end. Does anyone need a new friend? Will trade for M80s.
