Before I bought the M22's I read about some people concerned about the midbass performance of these compared to the M60's, but for the size of my room I thought it was worth it to try the M22's. YPAO did jack up my midbass (+6 for 125Hz, but that's what it's for) and I did my midbass test. That test consists of Mettalica's "...And Justice For All" CD at good volume. I've blown many quality car audio mid/midbass speakers with this album; it's midbass really kicks. A lot of time the sound will get very "muddied" nondistinguishable from the mid frequencies. Well these things handled it like a trooper. I've got a 200 wpc Adcom powering them, so I've I'm at the upper limits of the suggested power ratings for these speakers. Sounded great. The midbass was otally distinguishable from the rest of the spectrum. Clear as day and exibited no signs of breaking up. W/O YPAO there's a good chance it would've been lacking, but with this setup, the midbass was just as good as the rest of the speaker.

You have actually damaged many car-audio speakers when playing that album??? Are you sure your ears are still okay?

Oh, I'll believe it. My old speaker destroying music was the Imperial March on a particularly badly mastered Star Wars CD. Destroyed many a cheap speaker with that. I don't think I've played it in years...
