Surely the photographer helped out, right? Right?

I'm feeling a little sarcastic tonight, so here is what you get...
More food for the one that made it! -or- "Hey kids, just keep swimming!" -or- "Stupid kids!" -or- Woman driver! -or- At least the truck didn't back up over us!

Pessimists. I'm sure the other ducklings are just out of frame.
It's the same here every spring - the ducks paddle past the dock pretty much every night. You can't help but count them every time. Usually nine to start . . . then six . . . then four . . . depends on how the snapping turtles are that year.

Funny, I had the same thing happen right in front of my home. Forum veterans (those who still have memories) may remember the story from this 3 year old post.

Great story, Jack! It gave me goosebumps. I know that's a bad pun, but it's true.

Glad you enjoyed it. Since I remember it so indelibly, it's obvious that it was one of the more rewarding experiences in my life.

we had some late to migrate geese out sitting on the ice in the bay one year. they were just taking a break no doubt but I told my wife's rather gullible friend that they were there last night before the bay froze over so I bet their feet froze into the ice and they are stuck.
Ya, it's an old joke but 20 minutes later I hat to run out onto yard and stop her before her 'rescue' mission got her killed.
With great power comes Awesome irresponsibility.

Cool story Jack, that must have been pretty cool to see them re-united!
