What's that white stuff on top of those big mounds of dirt in the background there Mike? Grits! Ready for harvesting, too, from the looks of it!

Just beautiful, Mike. Reminds me of the paintings that Bob Ross used to do on his PBS TV show. Of course, that photo is much better than anything he ever did.

Embarrassing fact: I owned a Bob Ross painting kit!
(and actually used it. I think my parents still have my mountain scene somewhere)

I think my parents still have my mountain scene somewhere In the box with all the other stuff they're sentimentally attached to just enough to keep but not enough to display?

They are the Wrangle Mountains, which are part of the Wrangle / St.Elias National Park. There’s a whole slew of mountains over 10,000’ in this range. This particular mountain is Mt Wrangle, which is 14,000’. The tallest is 16,500’ and just down the road a few miles. What makes these mountains somewhat different than other high peaks around the globe is their base starts out just above sea level. I think this area of the state is 300’. The park has a web sight with some more photos and links. http://www.nps.gov/wrst/Rick, I'm not real sure what that stuff is..... Gulf Sand???

He'd need a whole month. My parents' garage is not a trifling matter.
