@anthony11: Sorry, I thought you were trying to connect a desktop PC to your HDTV, obviously a MBP won't have a dongle for Component output. With the MacBook, your only options are VGA and DVI/HDMI.

No the "Full Pixel" mode is on my Bravia KDL-46W3000, my Samsung LN-S4051D had a 1:1 mode on VGA input but not on the HDMI inputs. I too was really looking for a future-proof TV in 2006. But now that 1080p is the norm in big LCDs, you see a lot of TVs handling 1080p resolution in almost any inputs while at the time it was almost impossible to find anything that does 1080p properly. ;\)

I've seen a couple of Samsung HDTVs having trouble with PC inputs, even 2008 models like the 450 will only support a PC through VGA, no luck with HDMI. Samsung make great looking sets, very good PQ and all, but PC support could be better from my experience.

I just have to say that stand you had made is brilliant. Good design. Nice work.

Beautiful system indeed.
I also want to reiterate the point you made about HT furniture. I have looked for almost a year for a piece of furniture for our new home (only 7 weeks left) and finally was confronted by our cabinet maker. He said the same thing as you: for the price (or even less) than a particle board cabinet at the local box store he would make me a custom cabinet to my dimensions that blended perfectly with the home.
So, if anyone wants to upgraded their furniture, Bruf has it nailed.
