Hey Guys,

Just got my audiobytes and man, am I in love. Because my desktop is somewhat low and I notice I get the best sound stage if I angle the monitors about 15-20 degrees upward. My only problem is that I have yet to devise an elegant and aesthetic solution. Any suggestions? Thanks so much in advance!

E

I use several sets of MoPads and like them very much. They're flexible in that you can very the angles....

Yes, I'm confident that, within my situation at least, they improve the sound...

They sell nice stands at Mapleshade Audio but they would cost as much or more than you speakers. I am not sure who might carry similar products for less. Good luck.

Mapleshade will also sell you some wire lifters and a set of weighted stickers for your amplifier, just in case you're a total f*cking lunatic that walks around with tin foil on your head and needs some psycho-acoustic mind therapy to calm you down.

I will never buy anything from Mapleshade. How can you trust that anything you get from there has any value at all?

We're talking about a wedge of wood here, after all. Let's not go overboard.

The Mapleshade stands are beautiful, but a bit out of my budget. The MoPads, on the other hand, might be terrific solution. I'm sure you can you trim their length, so I guess my new question is what's the cleanest way of trimming the pads?

I'm sure you can check with Auralex on that, but I've built a full soundbooth using their foam and funny enough, the recommended cutter is an electric carving knife. I bought one just for that job and it did beautifully!
