I don't own the Maple, but I had a pair of M60's in maple at my place for about a week. They look really nice! I only bought the boston cherry, because it matched the center I already had.

My fronts and center are Boston Cherry (maple wasn't an option back when I bought my M22s), but my surrounds are maple. At the moment, I am webpage-less, but if you email me (rdarst@comcast.net), I'll be happy to send you pictures of them. They blend in very nicely with a standard off-white living room wall--so nicely, in fact, that my audiophobic spouse allowed me to get them. Previously, she had insisted on in-wall speakers, but I was able to sell her on the maple Axioms. Much more bang for the buck!
Would I get an all-maple set up if I had it to do all over again? Quite possibly: to the extent that we have a decor theme, it is light-wood Scandinavian.
Best,
Rob

There are some pictures of my system here:

My camera has pretty low resolution, so sorry sbout the quality. But They look great, especially if they match your decor. And definitely get the tan grills.

Rob, thanks again for sending me the pics, and snippy thanks for providing the link. They were very helpful. In my room the tan grilles won't go, but black will. I was also considering the light gold covers which would go better than tan, but not as good as black. My wife says it'll look hideous with light gold covers, but what do you guys think?

The tan grills look almost the exact same color as the speakers. I do not understand why anyone would want the black grills, but everyone I guess can have their opinion.
I have had both color grills and I hated the black ones until they finally came out with the tan ones. My girlfriend was also very happy when the tan grills came because they looked so much better.

I want to thank you guy's for helping me out on the color situation, and especially to Rob for emailing me pics . In the end though, my wife chose black. We are replacing a def tech system with the Epic 80, but slowly, for the family room. I ordered and received the VP-150 in black to replace a C/L/R 2500, and I'm very impressed with this center speaker. I even went and tried it in my theater (in place of my ML Cinema center) and you know honestly I would be more than happy to use this speaker in my setup. This is a wonderful detailed speaker. I'm ordering the rears (QS8) on Monday, and the 80's after I sell the def tech mains. I'm also eager to get the 80's and try them in my theater in place of my ML's.

Hey MiniRock,
I haven't personally heard ML's (Martin Logan's right?) to compare them with the M80's. You will love the M80's if you like detailed crystal clear sound in the highs and mids. They present a wide sound stage and you can point to the position where the instrument is being played. Its bass is tight and focused (not boomy or muddy). They have a forward sound that makes you feel the music (gets you moving). Some have said that they're on the bright side. This was my initial impression. After hearing them the 2nd time in a different set up similar to my room layout I really loved them. They were paired with a different receiver the 2nd time around. I'm not sure if the receiver made a difference or if it was just the layout but the really bright sound (makes your ears ring) was gone.

Aeromos- Yeah ML = Martin Logan. I have owned the Script, Scenario, and now have the Ascenti's (4) with the Cinema center. When I placed the VP-150 in place of the Cinema I had no idea such an inexpensive speaker could compare to another over $1000.00 more. The VP-150 wasn't as enveloping, but just as detailed, and in fact there were little sounds that I hadn't heard before, and some that became more obvious. The scene from Jurassic Park (DTS) when they are in the helicopter, and Ian takes a piece of candy from his jacket and unwraps it I could hear it just a bit clearer with the VP than the Cinema. Also the VP center seemed more anchored to the screen than the Cinema. IMO, a $1400 speaker should do EVEYTHING better than one 1/4 of the price. It has me rethinking alot about my hi-end purchase. I really can't wait to hear what the M80's sound like with B&K amps.
