Anyone order the EP800 yet?
I was looking at the owners club email I got and thinking I might try getting an oak cinnamon semi-gloss for $2200, I was originally thinking high gloss but Brent emailed back pricing of $2960 which is an awfully big difference from semi-gloss at $2200...

Yes, highgloss is quite expensive (25% more). Might be cheaper just to glue a mirror on the speakers!

So if you read this paragraph in the Owners Club newsletter, I interpret it as saying that Vassallo ordered before Nov 10 by Owners Club members will be $2200. Is that the way others read that?

THe reason I ask is because I received a different quote from brent at Axiom:
Hi Larry,
No the Vassallo oak semi –gloss is $ 3700.00 USD and with the 20% applied would be $ 2960.00 USD.

"Vassallo custom real-wood" does not imply the +25% for piano finish (high-gloss). Same that if you wanted rosewood, you would probably also have a surcharge of 15% as per the tables in Custom Wood Finish. http://www.axiomaudio.com/customstudio.html

I called and the $2200 was correct for oak semi-gloss cinnamon, so if Bill Me Later will allow that purchase I am getting one! If not, I'll wait a while.

Sounds like a plan! If it were not for the fact that I am in an appartment (no place for it), it is a very, very tempting product. Hope you convince Bill Me Later!

I have a daycare on one side and a vacant house on the other so I crank up as loud as my ears will let me. I was in Montreal a couple times, once when I worked for Nortel before the dotcom bust. Nice city, jogged the Lachine canal a couple days while I was there and some of the guys and I went to a little interesting place in McMasterville a couple evenings

Montreal is a great city. It has a very European atmosphere at night. There is nothing quite like it anywhere else in Canada.

My Daughter was born at the Royal Vic. in Montreal. Thats how she got her name. It was a toss-up between Michelle and Jenifer.

I was in Monteal in the late 70's, I'd suspect it has changed a great deal since.

Will are those 800s, 1200,s 1400s... we'll need to call the electrician to start passing 3-4 independant circuits just for the audio!

I plan on having dedicated circuits as the basement gets renovated. I suppose I should decide how many I want.

Early last year, as my landlord was renovating and bringing my washer and dryer upstairs and thus having to pass 220v, I had asked for 2 regular 15-20A. Alas, the electrician decided that one was way enough for any possible need and did only one without telling anyone.
So I have two sets of plugs, but they are really only one circuit. It's enough for my needs in an appartment (only AV is on that circuit), but both the landlord and I thought that the electrician has been a jerk... but since he's his brother...

I had a dedicated 20A circuit put in the basement theater. One outlet comes off that breaker, the rest of the outlets in the theater share a 15A breaker. I have the two EP500s on the 20A circuit.
