I bought this to split my XLR subwoofer signal, but I've just been reading through the manual, and its specs state: "Frequency Response: 35 Hz-20 kHz." Does this mean it's losing the information below 35 Hz? If so, I guess I'm going to have to pass the signal from one sub to the next, which means purchasing a longer second sub cable.

That's a microphone product. Among its goal is to eliminate certain low-frequency noises (at least according to the quick google I just did). You might want to avoid this for a subwoofer.

Send an email to Axiom. JC or Brent should be able to point you to a spliter or reassure you about the one you already have.

God knows I'm not big on Monster, but in searching for the XLR Y Splitters that I sometimes use on location to split an existing mic (giving me a way to tap in), I could only find these for some reason:

Female to (2) Male

and

Male to (2) Female

At least the pricing is good, and the dealer is good. I couldn't find any where the females were Regina Spektor.

She sure knows how to split my heart.

Thanks for the links. I'm thinking I'll just go with a longer cable from the first sub to the second. It won't be quite as clean, with a cable running back the same way the first one runs, but I can worry about that when I finally move my system to the basement.

I do have a related question. Does anyone know the significance of gauge on XLR cables? I notice that Monoprice.com's are 16 AWG while other places I've looked have 22, 23, and 24. Does the thickness even matter?

Charles, the gauge of interconnecting cables wouldn't become significant until hundreds of feet were involved. It's unclear why MonoPrice would bother with the thicker and more cumbersome cable rather than the gauges in the 20s which are typically used.
