Hello All.... Its been a LOOOOOOONG time....have not visited the boards. Life took over for a while but free time has returned.
Now dont laugh at the above receiver..it is merely for the family room to get better sound out of our LCD TV. The main 'media room' still runs on a Denon 4308 with my lovely m80's, ep600, vp150 and 4 x QS8.
I wanted better sound from the TV and thus embarked on a new project. I could buy a HT in a Box solution or get a low end receiver with some m3's, vp100, and ep350. I chose the latter.
First of the receiver - I am impressed - $220 US for this device and it takes 4 hdmi in, one Out - and has calibration etc built in... Its no Denon - but it is pretty good at its price point.
The speakers - do I even have to comment.
The reason for this post....does anyone have this receiver and or is anyone using this configuration. I am trying to figure out the best settings for my SUB on the back..volume, crossover, etc....so I can get the best possible sound.
The receiver is currently in 3/0.1 mode which means front l/r, center, and SUB only. I have no intention of using surrounds int he family room...wiring is a pain. The speakers are all set to small. It sounds OK...but I am an axiomite....I want more.
Again, the speakers are M3's for L/R, Vp100 Center, and Ep350 Sub.
Any recommendations, advice?

Hello Tarun,
My advice on how to optimize your system to sounds its best is to use an SPL meter and level match your speakers and your sub. This will give you the best results for optimal performance
On the crossover settings, I would play around with the crossover set anywhere between 60 -100 and see what sounds best to you. If you are in doubt choose 80 (industry standard).

set speakers to small, set crossover on receiver to 80hz, turn crossover knob on the sub to highest setting (bypass)...that will be a good start, then calibrate all speakers to the same SPL using a RadioShack meter, or the built in test mic if the Sony has one.
