I want to wall mount these and have seen zillions of different mounts. How far should they be off the wall? Omnimount seems to be the most popular mount out there. Any opinions on omnimount? Should I wait for Axiom mounts?


Also, should I got wall to back, wall to bottom or wall to top?

A couple of inches from the wall will be lots of space for the port to operate properly. Our mount is still a few months away but we have now finished the industrial design and I am very pleased with how solid and versatile this mount is with heavy speakers. Our mount attaches to the back of the speaker and can be mounted to the wall or the ceiling.

I'm looking at the Omnimount 75 series which holds up to 25 lbs. Is the wall to bottom the best bet? What size screws?

Perhaps you should choose wall-to-back or wall-to-bottom mounts for the M22ti based on the looks or ease in mounting. I have not used an Omnimount myself, so I can't comment specifically, but wall-mounting is an awkward procedure at best. Call Omnimount's toll-free number (800-MOUNT-IT) and ask them which is easier to mount. The M22ti has a nice flat area below the port at about the midway point on the rear baffle that would seem to be a good place for a bracket.

Whichever mount you choose, I suggest you use 1" long # 8 or # 10 screws and always pre-drill the holes with a guide on the drill to stop the penetration into the M22ti cabinet at 1".

-Alan thanks for the advice to the other person about predrilling back of speaker and use 1 inch screws for wall / rear mounts brackets. I justed received my M22's last friday, to replace my Paridigm Titan's which were on 23 inch stands.
-I have a 14 month old baby boy,which my wife didn't want another pair of speakers on stands,for safety reasons ( for the baby and for the speakers ) for him to knock over.
-So I bought wall mounts for the speakers, plus use the stands I already had.Which is great, now they are secure fastened to the wall and sitting in their stands.So he can't touch them and knock them over, and get hurt, or damage the speakers. Plus they have the great look of being on a a pair of stands.

Very clever, innovative solution you used. Glad the advice came in handy. It's a great life experience raising a child. Enjoy it--they grow up too quickly. Mine is now in college, but when he was barely able to walk I explained that all the hi-fi gear was papa's equipment and not to be touched without permission. But you were right to do the speaker anchoring thing as a safeguard.

It's amazing how these early lessons hold in later years. He used my custom tonearm/delicate cartridge (floppy suspension turntable) without incident beginning at about age 10.
