ive read on here that some ppl have came across trouble running emo amps and m80's. i talked to them regarding this and what they said (and makes sense) is that the amp requires 10A minimum to run . Therefore if u plug it into a normal wall plug with other iteam's on the same line the amp will shut down due to lack of feed power the same way it would if it was being pushed to hard . so a dedicated 20A line is recommended . just wondering if anyone who has had this problem might be in that situation .

I beleive those have had issues have tried running the Emo's plugged into various outlets that had nothing else on them and still shut down. There have been many more people running Emotiva amps with the m80s that have had no problems what so ever.

In my situation it had nothing to do with the amp rating of the circuit, it was the special wave form limiter within the amp that kept shutting down. I do have a dedicated 20 amp circuit, however, even with everything on, it is unlikely your ever going to draw anything close to 10amps. So that just seems like another one of their excuses. The other one they used was that my 80's are dipping way below 4ohm, which we all now is bogus. At the time they had never heard of Axiom.

I remember when they sent me instructions if I was "handy" on how to actually remove this circuit from the amps board, thus bypassing the protective circuits, I think NOT.

I've got the RPA-2 driving the M80's, doesn't even get warm. Sounds awesome. FYI

I think the RPA-1 had issues like the MPS-1, they must have made adjustments in the RPA-2.

That would be good news for those that are not satisfied with 1.5 watts and are looking for reasonable cost amplification.

Now if Emotiva had been more strait up about the issue you could just call and ask them and trust their answer.

I've got all emo equipment (DMC-1 / MMC-1)driving M80's and am also quite happy with the performance. My pre-pro is the hottest piece of equipment in the bunch and it's only warm to the touch.
I haven't kept track, but I think there are more problems with folks that use another brand avr or pre-pro, than with all emo equipment. May have to take a poll.
