I'm not sure I agree with having the rear Qs8's that far separated. If you get them to spread out, you will lose the separation they should have from the left/right surrounds. When I experimented with various placements having them outside of the rear seating areas width caused the whole rear channel to disappear, and it was hard for me to distinguish from the left/right surrounds, or that I even had rear speakers. Having them behind the people sitting in the furthest left/right locations worked much better, and gave me a much better surround soundstage as objects moved around the room. I think 25" from each side wall is way to far spread out.

I thnk Mojo has this problem, his rear Qs's are quite far apart and if you recall he has always said he doesn't hear much difference running his system as 7.1 or 5.1. We have wanted to add my M22 to the rear in place of the QS8's to see if that helped as his QS's are very far back as well. Hmmmm, I really need to call him now.
