The news reports make it sound like Fargo might be OK.. thanks to all the hard work from many people!
I hope you (and everyone else!) continue to be OK. Your wife needs a weekend spa treatment when this is over!

All the best Gene, I hope the news reports are correct, stay safe.

Good luck up there Gene.
I worked in the Grand Forks area a year after their flood in '97 and was amazed how high the water marks were on most of the buildings downtown ... hopefully y'all won't make it to that point. Stay safe!

Hold fast and safe!
While not nearly as tragic, we had a big snow melt over the weekend and my neighbors old sump pump was overwhelmed and burnt itself out. My house is on a slight grade and has never had water issues so I brought mine up to pump him out. Another neighbor (well a few miles down the road) brought up his backhoe and dug out the ditch full of snow that was preventing proper run off.
Seemed like a big deal at the time but after reading your story, it's just a tiny blip in comparison.

Good luck, ND. They're saying we're going to be okay up here... there's been some ice damming causing some minor (though not minor to the 12 lost property owners, I'm sure) loss up St. Clement way north. Two Amphibexes (Amphibii?) are working north of the city breaking up ice. (Check the link if you want to see what a backhoe mating with a pontoon boat would produce) Rivers are high here... we were nearly all thawed and then got a further 20cm (8") of snow, so we're almost back to where we started. 1996 and 1997 were bad. This doesn't feel the same *knock on wood* Bren R.
