I don't even know if Outlaw makes their own stuff that is why they cant just update/upgrade there current lines. I thought it was bought from local Chinese or Taiwanese Manufacturers. For instance their Pre/PRo is an OEM version. 2 other companies have the same model just with their own badges.
Sherbourn PT-7000, $1500 Retail
Atlantic Technology P-2000, $1699 Retail
Outlaw Audio Model 950, $899 Retail
Can you tell the difference. So do we asume that the rest of their line is in-house made? I dunno?

I think the new price on the 950 is $799. The 950 has been favorably compared to some more expensive processors including the Rotel 1066. The new Outlaw sub was developed with HSU. Might be interesting.

Hey 2x6;
But is the HSU developed one the one made in the USA or made in China one? Someone mentioned in another thread due to border crossings...one was USA made and the other was made in china.

The Outlaw 950 has clones. I bought the 950 after waiting for a long period of time on the waiting list. Outlaw designs the product and has it made for them in an OEM factory. For the 950, it was Eastech that was contracted out. To keep the cost low. they sell their designs, which are then cosmetically altered and rebadged.
One of the Outlaws is Peter Tribeman, who started Atlantic Technology. The similarities between the looks of Outlaw equipment and classic NAD pieces from the early to mid 80s can be traced to Peter, who during that time was the president of NAD. You can see the connection.
the original, larger Outlaw amps were designed by the Outlaws and built by ATI in California. They are NOT ATI amps, but ATI was contracted out to build the units to Outlaw specs. The Outlaws are brilliant designers who have an idea to built the best piece they can at a given price point. For the prices they sell at, very few can compete with them.

The Outlaw sub (LFM-1), built with the help of Hsu Research, is made in China. It is not a clone of any Hsu sub, but does share many characteristics.
